Microfilm Research Requestsf you cannot come to the library to conduct microfilm research (read "Search the AP Microfilm Yourself"), do not want to have the microfilm sent to you for searching at your own library (read "Having Microfilm Sent to You"), or are otherwise unable to do the research yourself, we can conduct the microfilm research for you. We process microfilm research requests for a number of items including, but not limited to:
Exact Date SearchesThe Asbury Park Press microfilm located at our library is not indexed. (This means that we cannot type in a name, title, or other keyword to retrieve the date and/or pages numbers the article is located on.) As such, we will generally only conduct the microfilm search if you know the exact date (or as close to the exact date as possible) that the article or item was published. Microfilm research requests when the exact date is know are only $10.00. Extended Microfilm SearchesEven if you do not have the exact date an story or obituary appeared in the newspaper we may still be able to help you! We can do microfilm searches of an entire month for only $40.00. This will include a search of the complete newspaper cover to cover for one full month. How to Request Microfilm ResearchWe only process microfilm requests that are sent via regular mail with the applicable search fee enclosed. We cannot process microfilm requests over the telephone or on our website. To request microfilm research from us please mail us a letter and include the following:
